We provide food, clothing and household items along with referrals to ensure you connect with other social service agencies and community organizations to help address your individual concerns.
Emergency Warming Center
The Chevy Chase Community Center will provide short term emergency shelter along with a hot meal when temperatures or a combination of precipitation, wind chill, wind and temperature become dangerously inclement. Our purpose is the prevention of death and injury related to exposure to the elements especially hypothermia, the risk for which is aggravated by factors such as age, alcohol consumption, and homelessness. Warming Center hours of operation are 9 am- 2 pm. Advance notice is needed for after-hours shelter.
All emergency services are confidential and provided in an atmosphere of care and support.
